Our History

The history of Breath of Darjeeling plantation begins in the mid-19th century when British colonists first brought tea bushes to the Darjeeling region. Founded by the Mithani family, who immigrated from a nearby area, the plantation began as a small family enterprise. The Mithani family, with their deep knowledge of tea and passion for its cultivation, began to develop the plantation with special attention to quality and sustainable cultivation methods.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the plantation began to expand, adapting to the growing demand for quality tea. With each passing decade, the Mithani family has innovated in the process of growing and processing tea, while maintaining respect for traditional methods and the unique ecosystem of Darjeeling.
In the mid-20th century, the plantation became known not only for its high-quality tea, but also for its sustainable production methods. Our plantation was one of the first in the region to practice organic farming, minimizing the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This has attracted the attention of many environmentally aware consumers and companies around the world.
By the end of the 20th century, the plantation had transformed into a fully integrated enterprise where every stage of production, from cultivation to packaging of tea, was strictly controlled. We started exporting our tea to various countries, gaining international recognition for the quality of our products.
In the 21st century, the plantation has continued its development, focusing on social responsibility and improving the living conditions of its workers. Creating educational programs for employees' children, providing medical services and improving living conditions has become an important part of the company's culture.
Today, our plantation is a symbol of quality, sustainability and innovation in the tea industry. With an established reputation and dedication to its values, the plantation continues to inspire and win the hearts of tea connoisseurs around the world.
